Perfect English Training School

Changchun Perfect English Training School was established in January 2002 and is a fully licensed; American owned and managed school in Changchun, China.

We are located in the business center of downtown Changchun on the second floor of The Torch Building, one of the major buildings that fronts on Tong Zhi Street – a central artery in Changchun.

In 2009 we became a Trinity College London Registered Examination Center because we saw the advantage of teaching to an internationally recognized standard rather than to just teach and hope we were doing OK.

We began the development of Master Mandarin as a new language offering after talking to several educators because of shortcomings they saw in other programs, not the least of which is that northeast china is one of the very few areas in China where Putonghua is the "street standard".

In keeping with our philosophy, Master Mandarin hires only university graduate Chinese teachers who are fluent in English. While many schools hire Chinese teachers, we believe that knowledge of a second or even a third language helps our teachers to be more sensitive to "foreigners" who are learning Chinese. Further, we train our teachers to use western methodologies when teaching our students rather than the "sit, say and repeat" methods that are so common in China.

In September 2004, Perfect English was the first school in Changchun to establish an "English Only" policy requiring all students to speak only English while in the school. This policy will now be expanded to a "Chinese Only" policy for all Master Mandarin camp attendees.

The clear mandate for all Master Mandarin Associates is to do whatever is necessary to achieve a higher level of excellence in teaching oral and conversational Chinese! We believe that the product of excellent teachers, materials, methods, management and philosophy is that our students will learn to communicate in clear, accurate and understandable Putonghua.

Perhaps as important as anything else, Perfect English is an American owned and managed English School Changchun, China. While studying at a Chinese school can be a very positive and interesting experience, some westerners feel frustrated and stifled by some of the cultural differences that they experience. We want our students to concentrate on learning not resolving cultural conflicts.

All of our Chinese staff is fluent in English and have substantial experience working with our foreign teachers. We feel that this experience can only facilitate the transition to studying in China and make it a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
